Horn Point Lab Open House

We attended the Horn Point Open House on Saturday the 14th of October. We've been attending for quite a few years, and our kids are always fascinated by the science and the animals there. They mostly focus on the local water quality and the effects of oysters on the environment.

A Walk Under the Bridge

At Sailwinds Park, there is a great walk down a nice decked path that takes you past the visitor's center, through some natural landscaped area and under the Choptank River bridges. You end up on the old bridge, which is now a fishing pier or a great walking area.

Day at the Park

We recently visited Idlewild Park in Easton, MD for some playtime, and to enjoy the spring green. There are some lovely plants here maintained by the local garden club, and a bunch of big old trees

Trap Pond State Park

Trap Pond is one of my favorite parks for a day trip or for camping. There are lots of trails, a nature center, rental boats and playgrounds for the kids. One of our favorite spots is on the bridge, where the dam creates the waterfall.

Taylor's Island

Taylor’s Island is a small island community about 16 miles from Cambridge, MD. It’s a nice “Sunday afternoon drive”, especially if you enjoy the water and the wildlife associated with it.
