Cope Bennett Park

Cope Bennett Park is located in Sharptown, MD. It is located on the banks of the Nanticoke River, and almost under the bridge. There is a large gravel parking lot for convenience. There are decent tennis courts and a baseball field used by local teams. The playground here is a bit dated, but there are swings and an old school metal merry-go-round that every kid (or grown up kid) has fun with. There is a good sized pavilion with tables and a great view of the river and passing boats. There is a walking path under the bridge that crosses over to Cherry Beach Park, which has a newer playground set, a small beach and the boat ramp.

Can I Ingress Here?

The Google game Ingress, for Android and iPhone, is a GPS-based "capture the flag" game that interacts with "portals". These portals are real world locations that you have to physically go to, such as historical places, artwork, sculptures, parks and other public places, to interact with them via your device. This "game" is an awesome way to get out and see the world around you. www.ingress.com

Nearby Ingress Portals

There is a portal at the sign, near the tennis courts, and one near the river by the playground. The phone signal in Sharptown is somewhat sketchy at times.
